Well it depends. Have you beaten Prophecies yet? If you haven't beaten Prophecies, I would advise you to beat it that way you can unlock Hard Mode and do things like vanquish and Hard Mode missions.

What do you mean by " beaten Prophecies" . If you talk about the missions yes i have finished them all! What do you mean by "vanquish"?

Vanquish is changing to Hard Mode (top of Party Panel) and killing all monsters in a single area. When you have done this for every area you get a title.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Vanquish

If you have done all the missions with bonus, this is considered "beating" the campaign. But you can now do them again in Hard Mode, which leads to another title.
You can work on other titles. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Titles

You could try another class with a completely different playstyle. If you wanted to stick with your current char for the moment I would suggest taking a look at some titles and seeing which ones take your fancy.

Press alt+f4. You clearly don't understand GW in the slightest. There's more than one class, you can do anything you feel like once you've hit 20 as that's when the game begins.

the game doesn't really begin until level 20. before that it's just basically training for new players and unlocking the basic skills, for the most part. i'll agree that gw is a very hard game to get into, that's the only major flaw with the way campaigns are set up, but give it some time and once you do get into it and understand how everything works and how to play more and more effectively, you'll love it. just gotta give it a chance!

Well, frankly, when you're saying it's terrible once you hit level 20, he's earned the right to say that. The game starts once you hit level 20. Everything before that is just a tutorial basically.

If you are getting Factions, you can begin on that storyline. Factions also introduces two new professions: Assassin and Ritualist. You could try playing one of those, since the start would be completely different from the one in Prophecies. (But be warned that assassins die easily the first time they're played, if you are used to being a warrior in melee)

PvE is not about leveling up like most MMOs are. Leveling is easy, and is not based on making you better than the monsters. Eventually you face monsters level 30+, and the game is about knowing how to handle that. If you truly don't enjoy level 20 content in PvE, then your only option would be PvP. There are many variations of PvP (Random Arena, Alliance Battles, Fort Aspenwood, Jade Quarry, Codex Arena, Guild Verus Guils, and Heroes Ascent). Some of them are only available in Factions.

If you are planning on buying another campaign soon (Factions or Nightfall) I'd suggest doing so from the ingame store, and do so before Jan 5, 2010. They currently have a promotion where the purchase of any campaign gets you a free copy of the expansion, Eye of the North.

Personnally I'd get GWEN or NightFall first, so you get heroes (customizable Henchies, if you didn't look them up). If you try anything in HM, they'll probably help you much more than henchies. I'd go for GWEN, but I don't really like Nightfall so... Plus you,ll get more to do in GWEN than NF, but with a shorter storyline.

Also, in Prophecy a LOT of the map isn't used in general gameplay. You might want to explore the areas more completely, and maybe find the 3-4 areas you just never go in normal gameplay.

But MagmaRed said something pretty good there : If you truly don't enjoy level 20 content in PvE, then your only option would be PvP.

And btw welcome to the game Raoul

You've said you find it's boring after level 20. What is it you're looking for in a game?

If it's watching your level get higher and higher, getting better and better equipment as you go, then Guild wars isn't really the game for you.
I can't speak for everyone, but I can say why I'm still playing 3 years plus in.
I enjoy playing through the stories. I enjoy trying out new characters, or new builds. I like mopping up all those side quests you pick up along the way.
i enjoy doing daft or silly or weird stuff just to see how it goes, like completing Fissure of Woe in an all Ritualist team with my guildies.

I enjoyed hunting down every elite skill in the game and mapping every part of the map.
I like saving gold and buying pretty armors, not because they're better, but because they look nice

I enjoy playing with my guild mates. We pretty much turn the game into a 3D chat program, and incidentally kill a load of monsters along the way.

After 3 years I've finally discovered how much fun PVP can be. And i should have got into that sooner.

I'm not a big one for Hard Mode, or vanquishing, but others are, and enjoy the challenge

There is plenty of stuff to do in game, if it's the sort of stuff you enjoy doing. It isn't all laid out in a guided path, however. A lot of it is making what you will of the resources before you.

You say you're looking to buy Factions. That'll give you a whole new story that you can either start fresh with a new character, or play through with existing characters. It'll give you new skills, new locations, new professions, new game types, bad voice acting.
Factions gets a new character to level 20 much faster than Prophecies, and then the game gets going.

Titles, titles, and more titles. Or just help other people and power trade or something.

The game **begins** when you're level 20. Up until that point, it's all training and grinding. So what is there to do? Wow. Lots.

Underworld and Fissure of Woe to name two things. You think you're good? Try those and you'll be humbled. Watch helpless as Dhumm (Underworld boss) makes you and your party his bitch. Getting through all the quests in FoW, even in NM, will push you because you have to do them ALL at once and there's no rez shrine. Screw up and you're back at the Temple of Ages. Eventually you'll get to the point where you can do Fow and UW pretty well, but wait... you're not done yet! Now it's time to switch on Hard Mode to get pwned once again.

Then there's Alliance Battles. You can't get there until you're lvl 20. It's an entirely new way to look at and play the game. Playing against other people is so different than playing against the AI (artificial intelligence) in PvE. A humbling experience the first dozen times before you start to 'get' it. Then there's Random Arena, Codex Arena and Hero's Ascent.

Dude, you've just begun. You need to read a few guides. There's so much more to this game, you haven't begun to scratch the surface.

Also, if you haven't done them already, there's the Titan quest line obtained from Glint in Drok's Forge and the Sorrow's Furnace quests (can't remember the NPC who gives the initial quest, but you can check the wiki if interested).

They're nowhere near the league of FoW or UW, but can be challenging when 1st time through (particularly a couple of the Titan quests).
